Who it's for · Groups and investors

Who owns what, which practices changed operator or control, and where there is room for another practice.

Ownership from Companies House matched to every registered practice. Every neighbourhood in the UK and ZIP area in the US ranked by practices per resident. Premises approved before they open.

Generate a report for your area

Type the postcode areas you cover, exactly as they are written on your territory. In a second you will see how many practices we hold there, what their websites say, which brands they name and what they publish as prices.

Postcode areas (LS) or districts (LS8), up to 12. Free, no sign-in. Totals only: the practices behind each number need an account.

The question you already have

“I can buy from a broker like everybody else and pay the multiple everybody else pays. What I want is the practice whose owner is going to want out in eighteen months and hasn't told anyone yet.”

The list you'd build

The filters, in plain English

There are two kinds of ownership statement and they never share a table, a heading or a total. From the register is what Companies House and the care registers say. Matched by us is a link we made by rule, carried with that rule and how often it holds. Two ticks on Who owns what, in the From the register table:

  • Owns two or more practices

  • Every serving director born in 1966 or earlier, so sixty or over

Then sort by number of sites.

What comes back

The count, then the practices

735 UK companies own two or more practices, between them 3,571 practices. 17,298 director appointments are currently in force across the dental companies we hold, and 1,774 of those directors were born in 1966 or earlier.

Overlap the two and you get a list you can work through in a week: 54 companies own two or more practices and have no serving director under sixty. Those 54 hold 139 practices.

Four of them, exactly as the screen shows them:

Sites are practices matched to that company number. Directors are the officers in office at Companies House, with the month and year of birth the register publishes. Read from the database on 7 September 2026.

Why each row is on the list

The evidence, its source, its date

Every fact in that table is a filing, and you can open the filing.

  • The sites come from matching each practice to a company number and reading how many practices share it. Doctor Michael Frain Limited is the registered provider behind Clyde House (Swindon), Hathaway (Chippenham), Kerry Crescent (Calne) and Bell Barn (Bristol). All four say they place implants; two of three do at K S Hunjan Associates and at The Smile Clinic, and two of four at Gentle Den Dorking.
  • The directors are the officers in office at Companies House, with the month and year of birth the register publishes. Kuldip Singh Hunjan, born January 1955, has been the sole serving director of K S Hunjan Associates Limited since July 2006. Twenty years, and no successor on the register.
  • Born in 1966 or earlier is our filter, not a claim about anyone's plans. It is a retirement horizon, and a horizon is a thing you can be wrong about.
  • The care register sits alongside, never inside. 884 registered owners hold two or more practices in England. Companies and registered owners overlap, so the two tables are never added together.
  • And a second list you did not build, which is the one that dates it. 89 UK practices had a change of directors or controlling company filed at Companies House in the last 90 days — 247 separate filings between them. Over twelve months it is 789 practices and 2,178 filings. We count practices, not filings, because one sale generates five or six filings and a list that counts filings tells you a market is three times busier than it is.
Why now

What changed, and when

Doctor Michael Frain Limited holds four practices across Wiltshire and Bristol, the furthest two about forty miles apart, all four offering implants. Two directors are in office, born 1958 and 1962, and both have been in post since January 2009. Seventeen years, one company, four practices, and the company has never been listed by a broker.

54 companies match that shape today: two or more practices, no serving director under sixty, 139 practices between them. It is one conversation each rather than four, and the register named them before an agent did.

The register dates movement in the other direction too. 89 UK practices had a change of directors or controlling company filed in the last 90 days and 789 in the last twelve months, each carrying the date of the filing — practices, not the 2,178 filings behind them.

What it's worth

The arithmetic, shown at three levels

The fee payable to a broker or an intermediary on one deal, against a year of the seat:

Broker or intermediary fee on one dealA year of the seatRatio
£15,000£4,7883.1×
£40,000£4,7888.4×
£90,000£4,78818.8×

The group and investor plan is £399 a month, £4,788 a year, and stays below the alternative permanently.

That is one deal a year reached before it is marketed. It ignores the multiple, which is where the real money sits and which we will not pretend to model for you.

The nearest US equivalent starts at $12,000 a year for its corporate tier, and its own sample page tells you DSO affiliation is unavailable. Ours is the table on the front of the product.

What we can't tell you

The gaps, before you find them

  • Who owns 5,955 UK practices. We match 8,198 of 14,153 practices to a company number. The rest are sole traders, partnerships, or matches we have not made yet. No company number is not evidence of anything.

  • Owners outside England. Only the English care register names each practice's owner: 11,755 of 11,856. Scotland's 1,356 practices, Wales's 571 and Northern Ireland's 370 have no named owner in their registers, so there is no owner table for them and the page says so rather than showing an empty one.

  • Whether anyone is actually selling. A sixty-eight-year-old with two practices may work another decade. We give you the date of birth the register publishes and the year they were appointed. The inference is yours.

  • What anything is worth. We hold filed accounts for 8,787 companies and 9,963 registered loans. We do not turn those into a valuation or an acquisition-fit score. Nobody outside the practice can, and a score would be our guess wearing a number's clothes. Turnover, list size and NHS contract performance are not published and not modelled.

  • What the practice sees about itself. None of this half. Charges, filed accounts, director records and warning signs at Companies House are rendered on a subscriber's view of a practice and never on a practice-facing one, in either direction. An owner reading their own record sees public practice facts and nothing about who they borrowed from.

Questions

Is a Companies House match proof of ownership?

A registered link is: the regulator names the company, or its directors, owners or registered office match the practice. A match we made ourselves is labelled "matched by us" with the rule and how sure. When we checked 30 of our own matches by hand, 27 were right (90%, checked 27 August 2026).

Can we get the data into our own systems?
